A cam day at sea with lots of fish and wildlife to be seen A nice Thorn-back Ray caught and returned also Barrel Jellyfish Great black backed Gull and Guillemot.
Sadly thats the end of the wildlife watching and fishing from the ‘Lauren Jade’ for this season. I will have the boat out of the water as soon as the weather permits, she will be made ready for 2017. there is lots to do life – Jackets to be serviced and re-certificated, rods to be cleaned, reels oiled, written procedures to be updated Anti-fouling painted to the boat and a few adjustments made. I hope to be volunteering as a wildlife guide for the Dumfries and Galloway Councils Countryside Rangers Service again at Wigtown Bay LNR Bird Hide making this 7 winters of bird watching in the hide.
A slow start due to onshore wind but the fish were taking the bait in the afternoon with Bull Huss Tope and Thorn-back Rays caught and returned. Two Harbour Porpoise swam passed the boat but were hard to photograph. Later in the evening we diid a wildlife trip seeing Peregrine, Roe Deer, Grey Seals and sunsets.
