Day out with the boat

29th May boat trip – Mackerel are starting to show in small shoals and we had a selection of fish caught and returned. Good views of a sleeping seal, bobbing about just off the shore gave an extra talking point for the two young boys who were experiencing their first fishing trip, they quickly took to the techniques and have a tale to tell when they are back at school. Gannets, Fulmar, Manx Shearwaters, Black Guillemots and a Great-crested Grebe were seen; Peregrines were heard calling on the cliffs in the bright sunlight, giving a wild atmosphere to the shoreline.
